Auburn Recognized as a "Best Community for Music Education 2017"
Auburn has been nationally recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a "Best Community for Music Education 2017". This is the 4th consecutive year that the Auburn Music Department has received this recognition.  Here are some department highlights for the 2016-17 year:

Vanguard hosted "Harvest of Sound" and competed at the Dome.
Chorus, Orchestra, and Band students were selected to represent Auburn at the Jr. High Area All-State Festival in Cortland, NY and the High School Area All-State Festival in Ithaca, NY.
Chorus, Orchestra, and Band students were selected for Sr. High and Jr. High All-County Festivals.
Musical productions of "Barnum" at AHS, and "The Music Man" at AJHS were a fantastic success.  
AHS hosted the 1st annual Auburn Music Hall of Fame Induction, and 2nd annual "Music In Our Schools Month" concert.
The Auburn Music Department hosted a NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Solo Festival at AJHS on May 3rd for 280 students.
Seven performing ensembles from the High School and Jr. High attended the NYSSMA Major Ensemble Festival held in Owego, NY in mid-May.
